    AMIEN,

Didn't Mr. Gottsegen once comment in a thread about wax pastes that whenever he needed a wax past, he would procure wax and OMS and whip one of these mixtures up. I would like to be able to do this also without having to purchase a boutique art material. I have great faith in bees ability to produce wax.

    ottobooboo,

When Mr. Gottsegen wants to spend his time making stuff, he can. But he'd rather spend his time painting and just buy the stuff.

A wax paste is not a "boutique" art material -- it's a humdrum common material. A "boutique" material would be something like Maroger's Medium or some other similar concoction.
